I've been staying in the west side of Singapore for a while now, yet this underrated pizza place has somehow slipped past me all these years. This is an invited review, but I was genuinely impressed by the quality and variety this neighbourhood pizza spot has to offer in the West Coast area.

US Pizza is not a new chain, in fact, it's been around since 1997. I love that they are still being inventive and have created new menus to keep it fresh! That's what we were invited to taste: the brand new X Solo Box that is perfect for solo cravings, new appetising sides to complement the pizzas, and refreshing fizzy drinks that cannot be found in other pizza joints.

In addition to the new menu items, we were also invited to taste their bestseller items. Here's what we tried:

Fish 'N' Chip 9" Original Hand-Tossed Pizza

US Golden Fish Finger, Cherry Tomato, Onion & US Tartar Sauce

This immediately caught our eye since it's such a unique and interesting take on pizza. The flavour of the cheesy base with onions was superb, reminded me of tuna mayo-based pastries which I love. The deep-fried fish fingers on the pizza were tasty, although the fishy flavour can be slightly strong and therefore off-putting for some people. Thankfully, the tanginess from the lemon slice helps to balance it out.

That said, fish and chips on a pizza is still a little too adventurous for my liking, so I took a while to get used to it. It did grow on me after a second slice, though!

One of the classic pizza combinations: beef pepperoni and melted cheese. What more can you ask for?

They're really generous with the toppings here; you can see how the pepperoni covers almost the entire pizza. Very tasty and familiar, and a wonderful contrast to the more adventurous fish and chips pizza.

One bite of this and I immediately knew this was my favourite among the three pizzas. Sweet, flavourful, and generous with BBQ sauce without being overwhelming - the combination of chargrilled chicken, onions, and pineapple is just too good to resist.

Bursting Chicken Cheezy Meatball

3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

Cheesy meatballs that immediately burst in your mouth - be careful, as it's served hot! If you love cheese fishball or tofu in hotpots, you'll definitely enjoy this.

Extra Long Mozza Cheese Stick

3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐

Another option for cheese-loving fans! I prefer the taste and texture of this more than the Cheezy Meatballs. Not only is it tasty, it's also a fun side to snack on - you can really stretch it extra long.

Crispy Chicken Nugget

4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

No notes for this one - they're a classic done right. Some places make them too soft, which I don't enjoy, but these were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Crunchy Popcorn Chicken

4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I couldn't pick which is my favourite between this Crunchy Popcorn Chicken and the Crispy Chicken Nuggets - both were crunchy, juicy, and overall done pretty well. I'd probably like this slightly more because of its bite-sized portions.

All the pizza and sides are quite carbs- and protein-heavy, so naturally, we'd want to wash it down with some drinks. Unlike most pizza chains that typically only serve canned drinks, US Pizza offers a lot more choices - even cafe-style beverages on their new drinks menu. Definitely not your usual pizza joint experience!

Strawberry Matcha Latte

3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

Their Strawberry Matcha Latte leans towards the sweeter side, and expect a more subtle kind of matcha flavour. It may not be as mind-blowing as those from other cafes, but it's still a nice and fun drink to complement our pizzas with.

Sunset Mango Cooler

5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

This is my favourite among all three drinks, as there is a perfect balance between the sweet mango syrup and the fizzy and refreshing soda.

Lemonade Cooler

3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐

A classic refreshing lemonade drink, pretty decent as well, and tanginess helps to cut through the carbs. They also give out cute mini plushies which are the mini version of their exclusive US Pizza Blind Box - while stocks last!

"Pizza time" is always a good time. I never expected this neighbourhood pizza joint to offer such an extensive menu of pizzas, sides, and drinks, and they were overall pretty delicious.

Overall, we had a satisfying and enjoyable meal at US Pizza, and I'd like to visit again.
