I love Rise Bakehouse, a beautiful café in Singapore with outlets in Orchard, Chinatown, and Potong Pasir! Not only do they specialise in pastries and cakes, but they also serve delicious main dishes and drinks.

In fact, this is my fourth visit to the Rise Bakehouse at 111 Somerset, and it's the first time I'm featuring the same place on my blog more than once. During my past three visits, I always ordered the same dish, which has become my go-to recommendation: Scallop Rosé Rigatoni Pasta (click here to read my review).

I mean, just look at how creamy and appetising it is:

My mouth starts watering just looking at the visual! Speaking of visuals, Rise Bakehouse is always decorated with aesthetic colours and graphics, making every corner Instagram-worthy. Currently, it's April of 2026, so they're running a limited-time Spring-themed Matcha Sakura campaign:

This time, we visited in the evening, between lunch and dinner. I was craving coffee and dessert, so I've decided to try their waffles this time!

They offer four menu items that feature their Signature Brown Butter Waffles here: two sweet options (Classic Gelato Waffles and Fresh Berries Waffles) and two savoury options (Honey Soy Garlic Fried Chicken Waffles) and (Rise Breakfast Waffles).

Fresh Berries Waffles

🧇 Fresh Berries Waffles

housemade red berries compote, fresh strawberries, blueberries, seasonal berry gelato, maple syrup

💸 SGD 18.90
⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟 5/5

What makes a good waffle? It's one that's served warmed, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and drizzled with maple syrup.

What sets Rise Bakehouse waffles apart is that they are not your ordinary waffles, but brown butter waffles. By incorporating browned butter into the batter, the waffles have a deeper, caramelised flavour, and a crispier texture.

I was initially skeptical about the bright-looking sauce on the ice cream, as it looked too artificial and sweet, but it turned out to be their housemade "red berries compote" over seasonal berry gelato. Surprisingly, it wasn't too sweet or too sour, and it complemented the waffles perfectly.

I know the price might make you hesitate: $18.90 for waffles and ice cream?! I agree that Rise Bakehouse is on the pricier side, but I think it's worth it as an occasional treat, especially when it's actually good.

Pro tip: You can also visit the Potong Pasir outlet, where the same waffles are a dollar cheaper. However, note that the Pasir Panjang outlet only serves desserts and drinks.

Hot Latte and Iced Latte

☕ Latte

💸 SGD 5.50 (Not inclusive of +$1 for iced)
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

Just a nice cup of latte, both hot and iced versions were well-balanced with no sour notes. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5/5 is because it's not mind-blowing, but still a pretty good cuppa.

If you haven't visited Rise Bakehouse yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's easily one of my favourite cafés in Singapore.
