Looking back at my posts, there are many dishes I wouldn't have ordered if I were alone because I'm not that adventurous (what if I order something new and don't like it?!). I'm thankful to have friends who push me out of my comfort zone and try new dishes with me!

For example, at Botany, I probably would've ordered something safe like Signature Breakfast or Avo Toasts if I were alone. But instead, my friend and I ordered:

Rosemary Orange Duck Confit and Garden Waldorf Salad
Rosemary Orange Duck Confit

🦆 Rosemary Orange Duck Confit

golden pan-seared duck leg confit with rosemary orange sauce on buttery mash potato
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

The duck was cooked perfectly - slightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The mashed potatoes enhanced the savoury flavours, while the orange added a nice tanginess to balance it out. Duck and orange is always a special pairing that just works, and this dish was delicious.

Garden Waldorf Salad

🥗 Garden Waldorf Salad (Winter Special)

mixed salad, walnuts, peach, green grapes, feta cheese, homemade yogurt dressing
⭐⭐⭐ 3/5

This salad was a good complement to the duck confit. While the orange helped cut through the richness of the duck, the dish was still a little heavy on the taste buds, so this refreshing salad helped balance the meal. Not mind-blowing, but it did its part well.

Hot Latte

☕ Latte

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

As usual, I ordered a latte. It was pretty decent - not too bitter, not too acidic, just right for me.
