Lazy Yogurt Brings Korean-Style Greek Yogurt Bowls to Singapore for a Limited Time Only
My fellow foodie friend, livewellwithpinky, invited me to join her as a plus-one at Lazy Yogurt's pop-up media tasting, and I was excited to check it out! It was my first time trying a Korean-style yogurt bowl. I'd seen pictures of these bowls on my social media feed before, so I couldn't wait to give them a try.
Lazy Yogurt is known for its signature thick and creamy yogurt, which is crafted over 72 hours and brought straight from Seoul.
The pop-up is available for a limited time from 16 to 29 October at Isetan Scotts Basement 1, Singapore.
At the booth, you can either order from their signature menu or build your own yogurt bowl, with prices starting from SGD13.90. (Click on the pictures below to expand them!)
There are four yogurt bases to choose from: Plain, Earl Grey, Matcha Chocolate, and Strawberry. You can also pick from a variety of fruit and crunchy toppings, ranging from classics like cacao nibs and banana to Korean-inspired options like Injeolmi Crumble, Chapssaltteok (sticky rice cake), and Yakgwa.
We took a while to decide how to customise our bowls, as all the ingredients looked so fresh and appetising!
After much deliberation, here are the yogurt bowls we customised:
Matcha Chocolate Yogurt Bowl and Toppings
Base: Matcha Chocolate
Toppings: Banana, Fig, Cacao Nibs
Premium: Honeycomb
Drizzle: Chocolate Syrup
💸 SGD17.90
Plain Yogurt Bowl and Toppings
Base: Plain
Toppings: Mango, Fig, Injeolmi Crumble
Premium: Chapssaltteok (Sticky rice cake)
Drizzle: Maple Syrup
💸 SGD17.90
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of yogurt because I generally find it too sour for my liking, so I was pleasantly surprised by how their yogurt wasn't overly sour.
I also prefer flavoured yogurt to plain yogurt, so I liked my Matcha Chocolate bowl more, although the flavour was a little subtle and mild. The texture, despite being creamy and thick, wasn't too rich or jelak, which I really enjoyed!
The toppings tasted just as good as they looked, too. I'd especially recommend the sweet figs and Injeolmi Crumble. My friend also noted that the mangoes were exceptionally sweet.
My only gripe is that the bowls are on the pricey side for their relatively small portions, so I think they're a little too expensive to strongly recommend. That said, if you're curious about their yogurt with unique taste and texture, you could share a bowl with your friends and try it as a dessert.
The staff were friendly and approachable, and I thought it was so cute that they included a thank-you message with our order:
"To Singapore
A little cup, prepared with care in Korea, has found its way into your hands today.
We're so happy that something we love has brought us all this way to meet you.
How has your day been?
We hope you can set the busy parts aside for a moment, whatever it has held.
Thank you for being part of our time here. Until we meet again.
Lazy Yogurt from Korea."
Since this is only a limited-time pop-up, perhaps Lazy Yogurt will return to Singapore with a permanent outlet someday. If they do, I hope the prices will be a little more affordable, too. 😁
Disclosure: I attended this media tasting as a guest. All opinions expressed are my own.
