Keijometo is probably one of the most popular cafés in Johor Bahru, with a cool industrial-themed decor. It’s so popular that there always seems to be a line, so I’d recommend arriving early (before they open at 11AM) to avoid queueing.

Here's what we tried:

Chicken Katsu Curry and Matcha Latte

Chicken Katsu Curry

💸 MYR24.00
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

I love Japanese curry, so I might be a little biased while reviewing this haha. Apparently, the chicken katsu in the dish isn't your normal chicken katsu, but they serve "miso-marinated chicken katsu" here which was tasty (and crispy, of course).

Matcha Latte

💸 MYR14.00
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5

Pretty decent cup of matcha latte, nothing mind-blowing.

Mentaiko Tamago Sando

Mentaiko Tamago Sando

💸 MYR18.00
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 5/5

This was definitely the highlight and a signature dish here. It's probably considered as pricey for three small portions of sandos, but they're really good. The torched mentaiko spread topping above the tamago is especially appetising and makes me want to go for a second plate.

Lychee Matcha Iced Tea

💸 MYR14.00
⭐️⭐️ 2/5

Despite being one of the popular drinks and was strongly recommended to me by my good friend, I didn't really enjoy the Matcha Lychee Iced Tea - the combination just does not work for me.

I know I only tried a few dishes here, so take the following opinion with a pinch of salt: I think the cafe is overhyped by social media and I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the cafe. However, if you would like to go, Mentaiko Tamago Sando must be on your list of food to try there.
